Description

Magellan Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Wellness Counselor to join our remote team. This role involves providing telephonic wellness assessments, consultations, and coaching. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and a passion for guiding individuals toward healthier lifestyles.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver virtual telephonic wellness assessments, consultations, and referrals.
  • Provide wellness coaching using methodologies like motivational interviewing to help participants achieve personal wellness goals.
  • Monitor participants’ progress toward achieving their goals, offering support and reassessment as needed.
  • Educate participants on healthy lifestyle requirements and identify potential risk factors.
  • Offer program information and education about EAP services, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to create comprehensive care plans with clear interventions.
  • Administer surveys to assess participant satisfaction and program success.
  • Document all participant interactions and activities in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with job duties and scheduling to maintain high-quality program delivery.
  • Respond compassionately and effectively to participant needs, maintaining a solution-focused and problem-solving approach.
  • Meet productivity and quality management expectations while effectively managing your caseload.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • Required: Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or a related field.
  • Required: Active, independent licensure meeting state, commonwealth, or customer-specific requirements in Care Management.

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of post-degree experience in behavioral health.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wellness coaching and counseling methodologies.
  • Proficiency with technology applications and telecommunication tools.
  • Experience working collaboratively across organizational teams.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to respond sensitively and compassionately to participants.
  • Knowledge of solution-focused counseling and wellness coaching techniques.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $58,440 - $93,500 (adjusted based on skills, experience, and location).
  • Incentives: Potential eligibility for short-term incentives.
